Department of Machanical Engineering
Mechanical engineering is one of the broadest and oldest branches of engineering. Students in this field study the design, analysis, testing, manufacturing, control, operation, and maintenance of various types of machinery used in industries. This requires an understanding of core concepts such as mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, structural analysis, and electricity. Mechanical engineers apply these fundamental principles, utilizing tools like computer-aided engineering (CAE) and product lifecycle management (PLM), to design and analyze manufacturing plants and processes.
